About Rocketship Education
Rocketship Education is committed to helping students from low-income families access quality education. This group of schools endeavors to provide personalized learning because they believe that every student is unique. Rocketship Education also strives to engage parents while creating a transformational learning environment. The idea behind involving educators, parents, and other stakeholders is to develop an environment that allows children from low-income families like San Jose secure a chance to join college. Since 2007, more than seven schools have been set up to serve these low-income communities.
Rocketship Education has received support from numerous stakeholders, such as Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan. This couple is dedicated to funding academic initiatives and have donated a significant portion of their wealth to technology and education investments. Mark Zuckerberg has also committed some of his technicians to the charter schools to help develop a personalized learning platform. Rocketship Education provides parents with an opportunity to interview teachers who wish to teach at the school. Smith and Christopher, a set of parents who want to enroll their children in Rocketship Education, have in the last couple of months attended numerous interviews. Parents are known to evaluate applicants strictly before hiring them.
Rocketship Education launches a new facility
Rocketship Education is responsible for constructing several schools, including the new facility in Ward 8 neighborhood. This new school is expected to contain about 350 kindergarten and second-grade students. The Appletree Institute is also scheduled to launch operations in the school once it is commissioned. Rocketship Education is not only impacting the lives of children but the parents as well. The Ward 8 neighborhood school, for instance, has a computer room fitted with internet access that would provide parents with an opportunity to apply for jobs. Rocketship Education continues to positively impact the community while still helping families realize their American dream.
